About This Project

Custom designed metal screening and shading systems for the Physical Science Building at Mesa Community College, combining energy performance with architectural expression to create dynamic light patterns throughout the learning spaces. The project featured 1,168 sq ft of LEED-certified aluminum grating along with modern scrims, staircases, and an observation platform. Designed by SmithGroup architects, it was the first major LEED project in the Maricopa County Community College District, setting a new standard for sustainable campus architecture in the region.
